SPRINGFIELD — Students from Agawam High School huddled around a table inside the dome at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, wrapping twine around toilet paper tubes sandwiched between two flat sheets of cardboard. The tubes gave the structure internal support, while the twine compressed the pieces of cardboard into a solid platform.
LUDLOW — Mickey Buhl, director of operations and school business manager for the Ludlow School Department, presented the School Committee with a list of capital improvements for fiscal year 2026.
LONGMEADOW — The Longmeadow Select Board spent most of its Oct. 21 meeting putting the final details on the Nov. 12 Town Meeting Warrant. While most of the 29 articles were easily approved, the language of a few articles created confusion and led to some articles being pushed to 2025.
LONGMEADOW — Cities and towns across Western Massachusetts are exploring municipally owned internet networks. Chicopee, Westfield and South Hadley operate networks, while Hampden, East Longmeadow, West Springfield, Wilbraham and Southwick are at various stages of municipal fiber projects with different internet service providers.
SPRINGFIELD — Springfield has long had the moniker “The City of Homes.” Way Finders is giving the nickname a new meaning with a vacant home renovation program of the same name.
