SPRINGFIELD — Memories are made of sights, smells and sounds. Twenty-three years after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, members of Springfield first responder community remembered where they were on what John Sjoberg, chair of the Spirit of Springfield, called, “A day when time stood still, but our first responders did not.”
Among the contested seats in this November’s election is Massachusetts’s 1st Congressional District.
LONGMEADOW — Several residents came to the defense of Peter Benton, a resident who said his “character came into question” at the Aug. 12 Select Board meeting, during which he was under consideration as a candidate for the Board of Registrars.
LONGMEADOW — For the fourth year in a row, the Longmeadow Green will be filled with people, music and a welcoming atmosphere, as the Longmeadow Pride Alliance hosts Longmeadow Pride on Sept. 15, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
SPRINGFIELD — On Sept. 15, rain or shine, hundreds of people will step off from the corner of Main and Wason streets at 11 a.m. with flags, floats and music for the 34th annual Springfield Puerto Rican Parade.
