HOLYOKE — The week of May 5 to 9 marks the celebration of Girls Inc. Week at Girls Inc. of the Valley, and locations across the country — a time dedicated to spotlighting the organization’s transformative programming for girls and teens across Western Massachusetts.
CHICOPEE — IQ Ink and Embroidery hosted a grand opening on May 2 to introduce the community to its new space at 35 North Chicopee St., on the third floor above The Good Dog Spot.
CHICOPEE — Mutt Rescue, located at 102 Grove St., recently hosted a final dog adoption event on April 27 after learning it would permanently have to shut its doors.
SPRINGFIELD — A newly ratified contract between the city of Springfield and its just under 500 police officers was officially approved by the City Council during its April 28 hearings meeting.
WILBRAHAM — Each May, Wilbraham voters elect residents to vote on their behalf in the town government and on the Hampden-Wilbraham Regional School Committee. In total, 13 people are running for positions on nine boards and committees.
HAMPDEN — On May 12, the town of Hampden will conduct its spring Town Meeting at 7 p.m. in the cafeteria of the former Thornton W. Burgess School.
