EAST LONGMEADOW — The East Longmeadow Cultural Council will host its third annual Arts and Brew Festival on Saturday, Aug. 24, at Brew Practitioners Brewery and Taproom on Baldwin St.
HAMPDEN — The Hampden Planning Board officially recommended a six-month moratorium of battery energy storage systems at its Aug. 14 meeting.
LONGMEADOW — Members of the Middle School Building Committee hosted a meeting for the abutters of Williams Middle School on Aug. 15. The property at 410 Williams St. has been selected by the committee as the preferred location for the town’s future combined middle school. About 40 people attended the meeting, nearly all of whom were opposed to the project being built at the site.
WILBRAHAM — The Trot for Tom Run and Walk will take place on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Minnechaug Regional High School to celebrate the life and values of Wilbraham resident and scientist Dr. Thomas “Tom” Julian.
With the Sept. 3 State Primary election just around the corner, early voting in East Longmeadow, Hampden, Longmeadow and Wilbraham will begin on Aug. 24.
SPRINGFIELD — Springfield Technical Community College has been awarded a $301,250 grant from the Massachusetts Gaming Commission’s Community Mitigation Fund for the college’s WorkReady program, the Hampden Prep Program.
