LONGMEADOW — The 2023 Longmeadow 10U softball team was congratulated on May 7 by state Rep. Brian Ashe and Jennifer Pickering, district director for state Sen. Jake Oliveira for winning the 2023 state championship.
EAST LONGMEADOW — Meadow Brook Elementary Principal Renee Lodi and Assistant Superintendent for Business Pamela Blair provided an update on the Meadow Brook Elementary adaptive playground project and requested approval for its funding at the May 6 School Committee meeting.
EAST LONGMEADOW — The Planning Board approved the site plan for construction of the new East Longmeadow High School and demolition of the current building during its May 7 meeting. The board agreed to the plan as presented under the condition that certain specified requests be met.
SPRINGFIELD — Mary Dionne drove down the streets of a neighborhood in the Outer Belt area of Springfield. Pointing as she passed homes on Ellendale Circle, she said, “These houses have water in their basements, I’m sure they do.” She turned onto Parker Street and then Allen Street, heading toward Bicentennial Avenue.
