Charity walk to remember, help domestic violence victims

WILBRAHAM — One year ago, Sima Pariseau and her son Dylan Pariseau were killed in an incident of domestic violence. Two days shy of the anniversary of their death, hundreds of people will take to the streets around Wilbraham’s Fountain Park in their honor. The walk, “3.3 Miles for Change,” will raise funds to help others affected by domestic violence.

The Western Massachusetts Baseball Hall of Fame will be inducting six new members who have made significant contributions to baseball in the region. The induction ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 5, at 6 p.m. at the Wyckoff Country Club, 233 Easthampton Rd., Holyoke.

Towns receive $200,000 from state for bridge repairs

WILBRAHAM — On Wilbraham’s side, it is known as Cottage Avenue, while Ludlow calls the same roadway Miller Street. Whatever name it goes by, the bridge that spans the Connecticut River and connects the two towns received a boost on May 16 as state Sen. Jake Oliveira (D-Ludlow) presented a $200,000 earmark for the bridge on behalf of himself and state Reps. Aaron Saunders (D-Belchertown) and Angelo Puppolo (D-Springfield).
