LONGMEADOW — Members of the Middle School Building Committee hosted a meeting for the abutters of Williams Middle School on Aug. 15. The property at 410 Williams St. has been selected by the committee as the preferred location for the town’s future combined middle school. About 40 people attended the meeting, nearly all of whom were opposed to the project being built at the site.
WILBRAHAM — The Trot for Tom Run and Walk will take place on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Minnechaug Regional High School to celebrate the life and values of Wilbraham resident and scientist Dr. Thomas “Tom” Julian.
With the Sept. 3 State Primary election just around the corner, early voting in East Longmeadow, Hampden, Longmeadow and Wilbraham will begin on Aug. 24.
ENFIELD — The Educational Resources for Children, Inc, ERfC, will have its annual backpack and school supply drive on Saturday, Aug. 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Enfield Food Shelf, and will offer free backpacks and school supplies for Enfield students in kindergarten to grade 12.
